Attorney and Environmental Advocate

Attorney at Law
Certified Mediator
Environmental Advocate . . .

The Law Office of Gayle Goldsmith Tuch, PCAs an attorney and an environmental advocate, I fight for my clients and for future generations. Concern for environmental issues has been a driving force for me, and is the impetus for my work with citizen groups and with governmental and non-governmental agencies and organizations. My business plan includes expanding my law practice to include environmental issues.

While I have been a practicing attorney for over 20 years, I have been actively involved in environmental issues for 30 years. My educational achievements include a master's degree in Environmental Science from one of the oldest master's programs in the field, Miami University's Institute of Environmental Science, and a law degree from Toledo University. With these two degrees, I bring together the law and my passion for the environment in a continuing effort to conserve and protect our resources today and for future generations.

Environmental Initiatives

Significant environmental initiatives that I have helped to launch here in North Carolina include:

  • "Movie Nights" hosted by Temple Emanuel. Since 2006, these monthly movies and speaker panels with environmental themes have helped participants learn ways to take action on current environmental issues.
  • Also, Temple Emanuel's Environmental Movement (TEEM) has been working on "greening" the temple, and continually works with other congregations to promote similar initiatives.

I have supported and assisted with the Piedmont Environmental Alliance's Earth Day Fair since 2008. In October 2009, several colleagues and I organized a local event for the "International Day for Climate Action," where we rallied at 5 street corners around the city, raising awareness regarding the issue of climate change, and pressing our legislators to support a strong climate bill.

Additional Environmental and Leadership Programs

Continuing education includes completion of the following:

  • Leadership Development Program through the Center for Creative Leadership - February 2009
  • The Environmental Leadership Program - 2008
  • Activist Summit on Nuclear Waste - May 2008
